Our Vision for the Next 30 Years

Building a legacy of compassion for generations to come.

Every meaningful journey begins with a single step.

Tsechen Tara Trust has been founded with a long-term vision that extends far beyond today’s challenges. While we know that lasting change takes time, we believe that with compassion, dedication and the support of our community, we can create something that continues benefiting people for generations.

This is our vision for the next 30 years.

Phase One: Building a Foundation (Years 1–5)

Every charity starts by earning trust.

Our first priority is to establish a strong, transparent organisation that people are proud to support.

During these early years we hope to:

  • Support vulnerable people throughout the UK.
  • Help elderly people with winter energy costs.
  • Provide memorable experiences for children with disabilities.
  • Work alongside care homes and local charities.
  • Offer free and affordable meditation sessions.
  • Build a growing community of volunteers and supporters.
  • Host fundraising events, talks and meditation retreats.
  • Develop sustainable partnerships with businesses and charitable organisations.

Most importantly, we want people to know that every donation creates real change.

Phase Two: Growing Our Community (Years 5–10)

As the Trust grows, so will our ability to serve others.

Our ambition is to become a recognised charity known for compassion, transparency and meaningful action.

We hope to:

  • Expand our UK charitable programmes.
  • Offer regular meditation courses and wellbeing workshops.
  • Host larger conferences and public events.
  • Build partnerships across the Tibetan and wider Buddhist communities.
  • Support projects preserving Tibetan culture and Buddhist teachings.
  • Begin funding humanitarian initiatives in Tibet, Nepal and India.

At this stage, we also hope to begin searching for the ideal location for our future retreat village.

Phase Three: Creating a Permanent Home (Years 10–20)

One of our greatest dreams is to establish a permanent home for Tsechen Tara Trust.

A place where compassion is lived every day.

Our vision includes creating a beautiful Buddhist Retreat Village featuring:

  • A traditional Buddhist temple.
  • Meditation retreat accommodation.
  • Peaceful gardens and walking spaces.
  • A conference and teaching centre.
  • A community café.
  • A welcoming restaurant.
  • Spaces for meditation, learning and reflection.
  • Volunteer and community facilities.

This will be a place where Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike can learn, relax, connect and experience the benefits of compassion and mindfulness.

Phase Four: Expanding Our Global Impact (Years 20–30)

As our resources and experience grow, so too will our ability to help communities around the world.

Working alongside trusted local partners, we hope to support long-term projects including:

  • Schools in remote communities.
  • Medical centres.
  • Community infrastructure.
  • Educational opportunities.
  • Emergency humanitarian support.
  • Preservation of Tibetan culture and Buddhist heritage.

Rather than providing temporary solutions, we hope to invest in projects that continue improving lives for decades to come.

Supporting Mental Wellbeing

Throughout every stage of our journey, mental wellbeing will remain one of our priorities.

Modern life places enormous pressure on people’s mental health.

Through meditation, mindfulness and compassionate community, we hope to help people develop calmer minds, greater resilience and deeper inner peace.

Our long-term aspiration is for thousands of people to benefit from free and affordable meditation programmes every year.

Building More Than Buildings

Although our retreat village is an exciting dream, our real goal is much bigger.

We want to build a community.

A place where people feel welcome.

Where friendships are formed.

Where loneliness is reduced.

Where compassion becomes part of everyday life.

Buildings create spaces.

People create communities.

A Legacy of Compassion

Thirty years may seem like a long time.

But many of the world’s greatest charities were built one small act of kindness at a time.

Every volunteer.

Every supporter.

Every donation.

Every conversation.

Every act of compassion becomes part of something much larger.

Join Us on the Journey

We know this vision cannot be achieved alone.

It will take the generosity of donors, the dedication of volunteers and the kindness of people who believe a better world is possible.

Together, we hope to create a lasting legacy.

A legacy that supports vulnerable people.

Preserves wisdom.

Strengthens communities.

Inspires hope.

And transforms Great Compassion into meaningful action for generations to come.
